Solving Systemic Issues with the Resilient Communities Project (RCP): A Ramsey County Case Study

Event Location

Online

Join Hennepin-University Partnership for a webinar with the U of M's Resilient Communities Project (RCP) on January 14 at 1:00 p.m. RCP connects local governments to U of M graduate students and faculty to work collaboratively on course-based projects that both advance community resilience, equity, and sustainability. RCP projects encourage new ideas and perspectives on a broad range of topics and can involve any department or division in your agency. RCP is currently accepting applications for proposals to provide applied research and technical assistance, including analysis, planning, design, and evaluation.

In 2018, Ramsey County set new climate goals in their 2040 comprehensive plan and turned to RCP for a large-scale partnership to help inform their approach. Learn how RCP student research created a roadmap for the County to build greater climate resilience, including adaptation strategies that could be incorporated into County programing, operations, and budgeting. Over subsequent years, the County partnered again with RCP to implement the strategy through several small-scale projects related to human resources and community engagement.
