Join Nicola Alexander, Professor in the College of Education and Human Development and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, Diversity, and International Initiatives, for a presentation on education policies and how they can perpetuate as well as mitigate disparities. Her area of study includes the economics of education and school finance as they relate to policy, equity, and accountability.

Nicola Alexander headshot

Nicola Alexander is a Professor in the College of Education and Human Development and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, Diversity, and International Initiatives. Dr. Alexander is a former President of the National Education Finance Academy and a former Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Review of Research in Leadership Education.

Dr. Alexander's research examines the implications of policy for society as a whole, entire student populations, and specified student groups. Using a political-economic framework, she explores the distribution of resources and the implications for student groups who have not been well served by the present system. Her research aims to inform collective action to strive for a more equitable education system.
